VisionSource invited us to take part in their “Private Practice Crawl” where students had the opportunity to visit THREE private practices near SCCO. We were able to look at equipment, designs, frame lines, practice layout, network and ask any and all questions. The ODs were present to give insight and advice on their experiences in private practice. These practices do Pediatrics, Vision Therapy, Specialty Contact Lenses, Laser Co-management, Myopia, Primary Eye Care and more!

PPC Dinner Cruise
Eat some delicious dinner and cruise around Newport Harbor in a gorgeous yacht, all the while meeting and networking with some of the greatest optometrists in the area! Partnering with VSP and Vision Source, the PPC Dinner Cruise contains a mix of SCCO students, Vision Source doctors, and VSP representatives.
This cruise is the perfect opportunity to speak with doctors in the area and receive their input on private practice and the future of optometry. With an added bonus of stunning views of Newport Harbor during Christmastime and free dinner and drinks, what's not to love about this event?!

SCCO/WUCO Mixers
Once or twice a year, the Private Practice Clubs of Southern California College of Optometry and Western University College of Optometry host networking mixers. Not only does this allow students to network with guest speakers, but it also allows them to meet and network with students from neighboring optometry schools.
Usually, the mixers begin on campus at SCCO or WUCO. After dinner and a presentation, we continue the networking at nearby bars and restaurants! Students love this opportunity to network with optometrists and their peers in a more casual setting. Our networking mixers are something you don't want to miss! Dining with the Docs
Once a year, we invite practicing optometrists in the surrounding area and across the U.S. to join us for dinner! This event aims to provide a platform for SCCO students to network with doctors and gain insightful tips on the optometry field. Dining with the Docs is one of PPC's most highly anticipated events. Students are able to learn more about their future profession from the perspective of a doctor currently working in the field, all while enjoying a delicious free meal! Attendance is limited, so look out for an email in the upcoming months for more details on Dining with the Docs 2019!
